VirtualBox is a virtual machine application now available to Linux users. VirtualBox also runs on Windows PCs and Macs. You can install a virtual 'box' and run it in a window right on your desktop. This allows you to install and test systems without having to partition or wipe your hard drive. Running a Macintosh OS on your Ubuntu machine is a simple install from a Macintosh ISO.
Open the VirtualBox application and click 'New' in the top left corner.
Click 'Next' in the bottom right section and choose a name for the installation. Select 'Mac OSX' from the drop-down menu and click 'Next.' Continue clicking 'Next' until you can click 'Finish.'
Select the Mac OSX machine from the list on the left side of the VirtualBox window. Click 'Start' at the top of the window. Make sure the Mac OSX ISO is in the CD/DVD drive.
Follow the steps in the First Run Wizard to install Mac OSX onto your new virtual drive.
Once the installation is complete. VirtualBox will restart the OSX machine automatically. Select OSX from the list and click 'Start' to launch OSX in a VirtualBox window.
Tips
The right 'Ctrl' button on your keyboard toggles the mouse/pointer back and forth between your physical computer screen and the virtual one.
